A Rich History
The Duke on the Test has a curious history, with whispers of hidden passageways and wolf-whistling mynah birds (yes, really!). Our walls are full of memories dating back to as early as the 1500s. The Duke as you know it today has been through many identities, including The Admiral Vernon, The Duke of Cumberland, and The Duke's Head!

Reimagined for the 21st century, our cosy inn brings the best of the Test to the fore. Local produce and local talent have come together to bring you impeccable service, comforting, creative dishes, and elegant bedrooms, all in a relaxed, contemporary environment.
